Card Prepayment Single Phase Electric Meter , Surge Protection Wireless Power Meter
The CA168-C is used for residential, light commercial and industrial environments of prepayment metering applications. It is a single phase two wire meter desgined in a compact BS footprint mounting case, perfect for retrofitting installations using exisiting wires. The meter is built with a surge varisotr for lightening protection up to 13 kV and an SMPS for low voltage operation down to 80V and below, making it uniquely catering to unstable grid areas such as Africa and Central or South America continents. Its wide range of current allowance 5(80) Amp and 30Vm withstand of RF immunity makes it operatable in very severe environments.
The CA168-C combines 3DES with STS encryption standard, using a token card to transfer payment and customer information between the head-end system (HES) and the meter. A consumer will top up his electricity meter by visiting closest point of sale kiosk with the card and make payment with the vendor. And the vendor will write all the payment info into the card for the consumer to insert it back into the meter to complete top up. Each card is unique to a meter in the system and serves as a customer card at the same time. This card prepayment feature provides the utility and service a transparent and effecient mode of prepayment management. Payment control parameters such as power limitation, emergency credit, repayment policy, tariff plans can be set into the meter via card contact, offering the utility or service providers flexible contratual control.
The high profile of CA168-C is available with the option for modular communication unit providing wireless communication such as Power Line Carrier (PLC) Radio Frequency (RF) and GSM/ GPRS on customers request. With this wireless feature, the meter can be utilized for AMR AMI functions as in communication and interaction with a head-end server (HES) for automatic meter readout, remote disconnection and reconnection, tariff setting and upgrade, etc.
