The purpose of this specification is to ensure that the measuring instruments can maintain their electrical performance and safety under overload conditions, especially for the temperature control of electrical circuits and insulating materials put forward strict requirements. It complies with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 60085 standard on the thermal resistance of insulating materials to guarantee the reliability and stability of the instrument in high-temperature environments.
Test conditions and requirements
Ambient Temperature: Tests should be conducted at 40°C.
Current Load: The current circuit is required to carry the rated maximum current of the instrument.
Voltage loads: Voltage circuits and all their auxiliary voltage circuits whose duration exceeds their thermal time constant shall be subjected to 1.15 times the reference voltage.
Temperature rise limit: Under these conditions, the temperature rise of the external surface of the instrument relative to the ambient temperature should not exceed 25K.
Duration of test: The entire test lasts 2 hours and any drafts and direct sunlight must be excluded to ensure consistent and accurate test conditions.
Post-test validation
Physical Integrity: The instrument should not show any form of damage or deformation at the end of the test.
Dielectric strength test: according to the document 7.3 part of the provisions of the instrument also needs to pass the dielectric strength test, in order to prove that its insulating material can maintain good electrical performance in high-temperature conditions, to ensure the use of safety.
Key points
Underrated operating conditions, the temperature of electrical circuits and insulating materials shall be effectively controlled to ensure that it does not reach a point where it interferes with the operation of the instrument.
After testing under these extreme conditions, the instrument should not only remain intact but also meet the requirements of the dielectric strength test to verify its stability and safety under high-temperature conditions.
By implementing these stringent test standards, we are committed to providing high-quality measuring instruments that comply with international safety regulations and stand up to the rigors of real-world applications. This not only demonstrates a commitment to product quality but also a high level of responsibility for the safety of our customers.
